Savoring the Wins

Reflecting upon last year, I realized I did a terrible job savoring my wins. Whenever I accomplished something, I would briefly pat myself on the back, quickly forget about it and move onto the next goal. This made me feel stressed out and always wanting for more even though I did achieve quite a few things last year.

This year, instead, I decided to give myself grace and take time to savor my wins. To start off, I allowed myself to immerse in the joy of becoming a fabric designer. During the past couple of months, I let my imaginations run with my fabrics and indulged into various sewing projects. I made quilts, garments, bags, an oven mitt, an apron and more! Here are some of my proud creations.

But before I actually dived into a sewing frenzy, I wanted to make sure my sewing space was set up as efficiently as possible. I cleared up a space in the corner of my studio, bought an old sewing cabinet ($30 find at Nextdoor) and turned it into a modern and colorful piece of furniture!

And do you know what the coolest part of this cabinet is? That the sewing machine moves up and down automatically with a flick of a button! Take a look.

ISN’T THIS NEAT?

Check out my Instagram reel for all the hidden storage of this treasure piece.

Now it’s time for me to slowly transition out of the sewing frenzy and get back into my regular art/design practice. But I feel it might take a while as I keep finding myself in front of the sewing desk. 🀣

Do you often allow yourself to savor your wins? Be it small or big, remember to pat yourself on the back AND take time to celebrate it in your own way. πŸ˜‰
